The movie ‘Harbin’ has barely surpassed 4 million viewers, while ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told,’ which is set to be released at the end of this month, has taken the lead in reservation rates.
According to the data from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 13th, ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) attracted 118,371 viewers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 4,180,422.
Released on the 24th of last month, ‘Harbin’ depicts a thrilling chase and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose in 1909 and those pursuing them. The break-even point is approximately 6.5 million viewers.
CJ ENM announced that as the film's box office momentum declined, making it difficult to surpass the break-even point, they lowered the break-even point by securing overseas sales and additional rights contracts. While it is common for films to actively generate revenue and announce results through various promotions after release, it is unusual to change the theater's break-even point announcement regularly.
In 2nd place is ‘Firefighter,’ directed by Kwak Kyung-taek and starring Joo Won and Kwak Do-won. This long-running film attracted 33,766 viewers on the same day, bringing its total audience to 3,702,985.
In 3rd place is the theatrical version of ‘Pororo: The Great Adventure Under the Sea,’ which drew over 24,000 viewers, resulting in a cumulative audience of 278,018.
Currently, the real-time reservation rate shows ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told,’ starring Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah, in 1st place. Following closely behind is ‘The Black Nuns.’ ‘Harbin’ has fallen to 3rd place.
