
Director and actor Yang Ik-jun has been accused of assault by a junior.
On the 10th, the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station announced that they are investigating Yang Ik-jun on charges of assault.
According to the police, Yang Ik-jun is accused of hitting the head of a junior film staff member, referred to as A, multiple times with a bundle of paper and verbally abusing him at a pub he operates in Seongbuk-gu last December.
A police official stated, “The complaint was filed on December 30 of last year,” adding, “The investigation is in the final stages and is expected to be forwarded to the prosecution today or tomorrow.”
Yang Ik-jun made his debut in the 2002 film ‘Zero to Hero’. He gained recognition through various films and dramas, particularly for his role in ‘Fly’. He communicated with the public through the Netflix original series ‘Hell’ in 2021 and ‘Hell Season 2’ in 2024. He is set to release his leading film ‘Confession’ on the 19th.
