As the late Seohuiwon (Hsu Hsi-yuan, 徐熙媛), a top star and actress from Taiwan, suddenly passed away, her mother earnestly conveyed the deceased's last wish.
According to Taiwanese media ET Today and Central News Agency (CNA) on the 3rd, Seohuiwon was traveling in Japan with her family when she was urgently transported to the hospital due to pneumonia caused by the flu. She ultimately passed away on the 2nd, at the age of 48.
“Please don’t take pictures”… A Heartfelt Request from Her Mother
Seohuiwon's family is currently in Japan preparing to transport her remains back to Taiwan. However, due to the complex procedures required to return from Japan to Taiwan, it is difficult for them to come back for the time being.
In response, Seohuiwon's mother released a statement through film producer Wang Yuchong (王鈺崇), asking the media and the public to respect the deceased's last wish. Wang Yuchong stated, “The family is in deep sorrow due to Seohuiwon's sudden death. Please understand that we cannot explain the current situation in detail,” and added, “We are going through several complex procedures to transport Seohuiwon back to Taiwan, and the family cannot return for the time being.”
Above all, it was revealed that Seohuiwon was most concerned about “being photographed by reporters” during her lifetime. She earnestly requested, “When bringing Seohuiwon back to Taiwan, please refrain from taking pictures or following us at the airport. This was her lifelong wish, so we hope you can understand.”

Seohuiwon was an actress with a unique influence in the Taiwanese entertainment industry and a national star. She debuted in 1994 with her sister Seohui-je (徐熙娣, Hsu Hsi-ti) as part of the group SOS, and established herself as a top star in Taiwan by appearing in dramas such as “Meteor Garden,” “A Chinese Ghost Story,” “The Legend of the Condor Heroes,” and “Million Dollar Crook.” In particular, in 2022, she announced her marriage to Koo Jun-yup of the Korean group Clon after reuniting after 23 years, touching fans worldwide with a movie-like love story.
Meanwhile, the news of Seohuiwon's sudden passing has shocked fans and people across Taiwan and Asia. Fans have expressed their condolences, saying, “I can't believe such a beautiful person has left us so suddenly,” “I hope her last journey is sent off quietly,” and “I hope her mother's request is fulfilled.”
Meanwhile, Seohuiwon's remains are to be cremated in Japan before being transported to Taiwan. Her funeral is expected to be a quiet family affair attended only by family and close friends.
