Director and actor Yang Ik-jun has been accused of assault by a junior, and the team behind his leading film “Confession” is currently discussing whether to proceed with the scheduled official events.

The film “Confession,” set to be released on the 19th, is a suspense thriller centered around two friends who become stranded during a sudden snowstorm while hiking. The story unfolds as ‘Ji-yong,’ who has injured his leg, foresees his death and confesses his shocking secret to ‘Asai.’

Yang Ik-jun plays the lead role of ‘Ji-yong.’ He gained significant attention and acclaim both domestically and internationally for his work as director and lead actor in the film “Ddongpari.” He has since appeared in the drama “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” the Japanese film “Ah, Wilderness” alongside Masaki Suda, and has been active in OTT content such as “Drug War 2” and the “Hell” series.

Meanwhile, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating Yang Ik-jun on assault charges.

According to the police, Yang Ik-jun is accused of hitting the head of a junior film staff member, identified as A, multiple times with a wad of paper and verbally abusing him at a pub he operates in Seongbuk-gu last December.

A police official stated, “The complaint was filed on December 30 of last year,” adding, “The investigation is in its final stages and is expected to be forwarded to the prosecution today or tomorrow.”
