The film 'Victory', which has been overshadowed by actor Yoo Ah-in's drug use allegations, is currently in discussions for a theatrical release.

Distributor Biopem Studios stated on the 20th to Maeil Business Star Today, "It is true that we are in charge of distribution, but discussions regarding the domestic release are ongoing. Nothing has been specifically decided yet."

Earlier, a media outlet reported that the film 'Victory', starring Yoo Ah-in, has begun preparations with the goal of a March release.

'Victory' tells the story of the legendary Korean Go players and rivals, Cho Hun-hyun and Lee Chang-ho. Lee Byung-hun plays Cho Hun-hyun, while Yoo Ah-in plays Lee Chang-ho. Initially, Ace Maker Movie Works was responsible for investment and distribution, and it was set to be released on Netflix. However, due to Yoo Ah-in's drug use allegations, Netflix has also temporarily postponed the release.

Another film featuring Yoo Ah-in, 'High Five', is also currently in limbo.

Yoo Ah-in was indicted in October 2023 for allegedly using propofol 181 times from 2020 to 2022. He is also facing charges for illegally obtaining sleeping pills using someone else's name and for smoking marijuana with acquaintances in the United States.

In September of last year, the first trial court sentenced Yoo Ah-in to one year in prison. He was found guilty of habitual use of medical narcotics and habitual purchase of sleeping pills under another person's name, while charges of teaching marijuana use and destruction of evidence were deemed not guilty due to lack of evidence. The appeal process concluded on the 24th of last month, with a ruling scheduled for February 18.
