Director Bong Joon-ho and Robert Pattinson's ‘Mickey17’ filled with human warmth is coming.
On the morning of the 20th, a footage screening and press conference for the film ‘Mickey17’ was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, attended by director Bong Joon-ho and actor Robert Pattinson.
Based on the novel of the same name, ‘Mickey17’ tells the unpredictable story of ‘Mickey’, a disposable (expendable) sent on dangerous missions, who faces the crisis of his 17th death, only to have ‘Mickey18’ printed when he is presumed dead.
Robert Pattinson, who plays Mickey in the film, is visiting Korea for the first time. Despite his busy schedule filming his next project, he expressed a strong desire to come to Korea, the home country of director Bong Joon-ho.
Director Bong Joon-ho, returning with a new film after a long time since ‘Parasite’, said, “‘Mickey17’ is a humanistic SF film. It’s the story of an ordinary and pitiful young man named Mickey. I’m excited to present a science fiction film filled with human warmth.”
He added, “The protagonist is pitiful. Why is he pitiful? His job involves dying repeatedly. He is sent to places where he is likely to die and keeps dying. ‘Mickey17’ means he has died 17 times. It’s an extreme job. When he dies, he is printed anew. This
