Director Byun Young-joo expressed her feelings about the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the 4th, she posted a news video with the subtitle 'Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol' on her social media, writing "Please move out." She also shared a photo of monk's pants, adding "So please wear the monk's robe."
The Constitutional Court held a ruling on the impeachment trial of President Yoon at 11 a.m. that day, unanimously accepting the National Assembly's impeachment motion.
It has been 122 days since President Yoon declared a state of emergency on December 3, and 111 days since the impeachment motion was received on December 14 of last year. The effect of the impeachment is immediate, resulting in President Yoon losing his position.
The Constitutional Court stated that President Yoon declared a state of emergency illegally, violating constitutional requirements, even though there was no national emergency on December 3 of last year.
The court stated, "The respondent has shocked the nation and caused chaos in all areas of society, economy, politics, and diplomacy by declaring a state of emergency in violation of the constitution and laws, thereby reproducing the history of abuse of national emergency rights. The benefits of protecting the constitution by impeaching the respondent far outweigh the national losses resulting from the impeachment."
Meanwhile, Director Byun Young-joo is directing the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Mantis' starring Ko Hyun-jung. 'Mantis' is a crime thriller that deals with a female serial killer and the police chasing a murder case that imitates her, set to air in September.
