As singer Wheesung has suddenly passed away, tributes from fellow artists in the music industry continue to pour in.
According to his agency, Taz Entertainment, Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul on the 10th and was pronounced dead. He was 43 years old.
Police and fire authorities responded to a report from Wheesung's family. The police found no signs of external intrusion or criminal activity and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service along with forensic analysis of his mobile phone to determine the exact cause of death.
After the news of Wheesung's passing, his colleagues in the music industry expressed their sorrow.
Rapper Changmo posted on his social media on the 10th, "Thank you for the wonderful music that had a great impact on my life. May he rest in peace," paying tribute to Wheesung with his song "Morning." Sani also left a message saying, "Rest In Peace Hyung."
Additionally, Vibe's Yoon Min-soo expressed his longing, saying, "Wheesung, let's sing and make music freely there. I will not forget your clear and pure heart. Let's meet again later and sing together."
Meanwhile, singer Ok Joo-hyun shared a video of a past duet performance with Wheesung and wrote, "I will never forget how much strength you gave me during those days as vocal lesson comrades. I hope you are happy there, with your volcanic passion for music. I will pray for you and remember you."
In addition, many fellow artists, including Kim Chang-yeol, VIXX's Leo, rapper Noel, Verbal Jint, Paloalto, and 2AM's Jo Kwon and Lee Chang-min, expressed their condolences.
Born in 1982, Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his first full album "Like A Movie." He gained immense popularity with hit songs such as "Is It Not Possible," "Incurable Disease," "I Even Thought About Marriage," and "Love Is Delicious."
He was scheduled to perform a joint concert with fellow singer KCM on the 15th and a solo concert on the 23rd, but the unexpected news led to the cancellation of the performances.
His agency, Taz Entertainment, stated in an official position on the 11th, "We will proceed with the funeral arrangements as the bereaved family gathers their thoughts, and the funeral will be held quietly with only family, relatives, and close friends in accordance with the family's wishes," adding, "We express our deep condolences for the late Wheesung's final journey."
