Seo Hee-won, the wife of Clon member Gu Jun-yeop and a Taiwanese actress, reportedly visited the hospital four times before dying from acute pneumonia caused by influenza during her trip to Japan. There are also claims that the cause of her death was sepsis, not pneumonia.
On the 3rd (local time), Taiwanese media such as ET Today reported that “Seo Hee-won was transferred to the hospital four times before her death.”
According to reports, Seo Hee-won, who died on the 3rd, showed severe coughing symptoms 1-2 days after arriving in Japan, which led to pneumonia. Her health rapidly deteriorated, and she was urgently transferred to the hospital, but she died around 7 a.m. on the 2nd, before receiving ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation). The media reported that the cause of Seo Hee-won's death was sepsis, not pneumonia.
A famous thoracic surgeon in Taiwan, Sui Feng, claimed that Seo Hee-won died because she could not receive proper treatment while traveling abroad.
In a post on social media, he pointed out, “Due to the difficulty of utilizing the medical system abroad, Seo Hee-won received treatment four times but ultimately could not be hospitalized,” and expressed regret, saying, “When the body experiences inflammation due to influenza, it is essential to quickly replenish fluids through IV and medication. If one takes a hot spring bath or sweats and becomes dehydrated, it can worsen the condition.”
The deceased's body is scheduled to be cremated in Japan and transported to Taiwan, where discussions are ongoing regarding whether to hold separate funeral procedures in Taiwan.
