Director Yoo Chang-seop expressed his intention to compete with terrestrial programs through the schedule change of 'My Child's Private Life'.
On the afternoon of the 18th, a press conference for ENA's entertainment program 'My Child's Private Life' was held at the ENA headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Present at the event were Director Yoo Chang-seop, Director Kang Bong-kyu, and Writer Baek Soon-young.
'My Child's Private Life' (hereafter 'My Life') is an entertainment program that allows adults to observe the private lives of children through their first life challenges. The 12 episodes aired in the second half of last year featured various children's private lives, including the travel challenges of the DoDo siblings Yeon-woo and Ha-young in the U.S., the travel experiences of Sarang and Yuto in Hong Kong, and Baby Tae-ha's first errand as a language genius, which attracted attention.
This broadcast will continue from the previous episodes, featuring the DoDo siblings' travel in Vietnam, Sarang and Yuto's photo shoot, and the return of promising golf player Song Ji-a, among other familiar faces.
Last year, the show aired every Saturday at 8:30 PM. However, starting from the 13th episode, the broadcast time will be moved to every Sunday at 7:50 PM.
Director Yoo Chang-seop stated, "ENA is preparing to strengthen weekend entertainment," and explained, "On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have dramas, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 'I Am Solo' and 'NaSolSaGye' are airing. Now, on Saturdays, we have 'Earth Monopoly World Travel 3', and on Sundays, we will have 'My Life'. We decided to move the schedule based on the judgment that it is content for families to watch together."
He continued, "From this week, I believe the ratings will significantly improve, and we might see ratings that can compete with terrestrial broadcasting," adding, "(Until the 12th episode) the average household rating was 1.4%. Our target rating is set to exceed 1.5%. The time slot is filled with many weekend entertainment shows. Since we have our own differentiation, I believe we can definitely achieve our target rating."
Director Kang Bong-kyu mentioned, "I wanted to stay on Saturday," and said, "When 'The Return of Superman' aired, the time slot was changed three times. Having gone through that process, I understand how difficult it is to change the time slot. There must have been scheduling issues as well. I think we can do well because you believe in us, but it is still quite burdensome." He added, "I don't know how much target rating we should set. It seems to depend on the viewers. If many people watch, we might survive," urging viewers to tune in.
'My Child's Private Life' will air on Sunday, the 23rd, at 7:50 PM.
