The members of 'Running Man' had a chance encounter with Robert Pattinson while filming.
The SBS variety show 'Running Man', aired on the afternoon of the 9th, was themed 'Chaos of Servant Life'.
In this episode, the members dressed up in rags and gave each other names. At that moment, the lord appeared and said, "If you complete my errands by 4 PM, I will let you all go home! However, if you fail to complete them by 4 PM, you will be severely punished, so keep that in mind. I have left various clues for you to find your way, so use your limited brains to finish well," reciting the servant contract.
The production team explained, "Clues can be obtained through labor. The lord needs you to correctly write the English words he is studying in Hangul. Only Haha, Yang Se-chan, Song Ji-hyo, and Ji Ye-eun can participate as the first players. You will alternate between Hangul and pictures, and you must convey the last picture. The difficulty of the English words will be tailored to the four of you," as they explained the first game.
Yang Se-chan was the first to sit down, and the English word 'Deer' was presented. He said, "I think I got it wrong, so guess! This feels wrong," showing a sketchbook where he wrote 'Bear'. Kim Jong-kook said, "This is you..." and drew a bear. Ji Suk-jin also said, "If this isn't it, I can only think of one thing," and wrote 'Hyena', while Haha, next in line, said, "How can I guess! Wait a minute," and drew a strange creature.
When Song Ji-hyo wrote 'Elephant', Ji Ye-eun drew an elephant, and Yoo Jae-suk exclaimed, "Elephant! Elephant!" announcing the wrong answer. Haha then said, "Hey, show me the goblin!" sending Ji Ye-eun to the first position.
The next first player, Ji Ye-eun, wrote 'Mushroom', and Yang Se-chan at the end shouted, "Mushroom!" It turned out the prompt was 'Cabbage', and Yang Se-chan exclaimed, "I know this! Cabbage, how could you not know this!" Ji Ye-eun explained, "I know mushroom, but I thought cabbage was another type of mushroom," which made everyone laugh.
On the last chance, when Song Ji-hyo shouted 'Hippo' and succeeded, the production team said, "The first errand location will be given only to Yang Se-chan. You will have 10 seconds to see it," revealing the clue.
Next, the production team provided a second hint, two strands of hair, and Yang Se-chan guessed, "It's hair. One is white and the other is yellow?" The members went outside, following the production team's instruction to "search the internet, only ask citizens," and Yoo Jae-suk suggested, "The name of this area is Gugi-dong?"
At that moment, after asking citizens, Yoo Jae-suk announced, "This is near Insadong!" and the members confirmed, "There are many 'bang' (rooms) here!" believing they were close to Insadong.
With the help of citizens, they arrived at Guhasanbang, and the owner said, "It's been 113 years!" confirming their answer. The production team revealed, "This is the first traditional medicine clinic in Korea, where King Gojong and King Sunjong actually visited," surprising the members.
Then, the production team said, "The lord's errand is to bring back a brush, paper, and an inkstone," and the owner handed over the stationery.
Next, the members watched a scene from 'The Era of the Wild' for their second errand, and Yoo Jae-suk read the characters at once, saying, "Imun Restaurant? This is the oldest Seolleongtang (beef bone soup) place here."
They cheered at the production team's request to express the taste after eating Seolleongtang, but immediately felt disheartened when told they had to jump rope first. After several attempts, only Yoo Jae-suk and Haha got to taste the Seolleongtang, and Haha expressed, "The meat is extra large, so the texture is different!" earning envy from the other members. Meanwhile, the other members only had plain rice sprinkled with sesame salt, and Yang Se-chan remarked, "It feels like someone played in the dirt to make this," as they ate.
Finally, the members completed a mission to find a person by looking at a montage drawn by Yoo Jae-suk. At that time, they heard from the production team that Robert Pattinson was nearby and asked, "Can we go to him?"
Robert Pattinson greeted them with a bright smile, shaking hands one by one, and the interpreter explained, "He usually doesn't dress like this. But today, he is in ragged clothes," describing the situation of the Running Man members. When Robert Pattinson asked, "Are you filming right now?" Ji Suk-jin added, "We are famous in Korea," which embarrassed the members.
After hearing that he was filming for Bong Joon-ho's movie 'Mickey17', Ji Suk-jin briefly conversed, saying, "Are you Mickey? Yeah... Destiny!" and Robert Pattinson replied, "Let's all be friends! It was nice to meet you all," and requested to take a photo. Yoo Jae-suk lamented, "Why did we meet today? It's really a day of fate," feeling regretful about his ragged appearance. Later, with the help of citizens, the members found a traditional medicine clinic that has been operating for three generations since the Japanese colonial period. Ji Ye-eun was chosen to receive acupuncture through voting, and the doctor said, "You have indigestion. You have constipation, headaches, blurry vision, stiff neck, and dizziness," as he checked her pulse and then pricked her acupuncture points. Unable to bear the pain, Ji Ye-eun cried out, "Why does it hurt so much? Teacher, it hurts! It hurts!" and eventually broke down in tears.
