Actor Kim Sae-ron passed away on the 16th. She was 25 years old. It was too early for her to leave.
The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul reported that they received a call at 4:54 PM that Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home, and they confirmed her death upon arrival. The police transported Kim Sae-ron to the hospital, but she had already passed away, and it was reported that she was in cardiac arrest at the time of discovery.
A police official stated, “No signs of external intrusion or criminal evidence were found, but we are continuing to investigate the circumstances of her death.”
Following the sudden news of Kim Sae-ron's passing, fellow celebrities and her former agency Gold Medalist expressed their condolences, while fans also visited her social media to pay their respects.
She began her career as a baby model in the magazine 'Anfang' in 2001 and started acting in the movie 'Traveler' in 2009, becoming the youngest actor to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
She gained public recognition in the 2010 film 'The Man from Nowhere' alongside actor Won Bin. She later appeared in several films, including 'Neighbor', 'Manhole', 'Dohee-ya', 'Snow Path', and 'Neighborhood People'. She also won the hearts of viewers through dramas such as 'Can You Hear My Heart', 'What’s Mom', 'Queen’s Classroom', and 'Witch’s Diary'.
However, her acting career suffered a significant blow due to a drunk driving incident in May 2022. She was fined 20 million won in May 2023 due to this incident, and she faced difficult days afterward.
After halting her entertainment activities and taking time for self-reflection, Kim Sae-ron was preparing to return to the stage with the play 'Dongchimi' after two years, but she withdrew from the play due to health reasons.
Additionally, Kim Sae-ron completed filming for the movie 'Guitar Man' last November and was preparing for her return to activities with this film, but it became her last work.
