On the 11th, Jang Sung-kyu wrote on his SNS, “I sincerely pray for the repose of the deceased” and added, “I will not forget the good music.”
Earlier, on the 10th, Wheesung's agency, Tajo Entertainment, announced, “We are sorry to convey such heartbreaking and sorrowful news,” stating, “On the 10th, our artist Wheesung left us.”
According to the agency, the deceased was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul and was pronounced dead.
According to the police, no signs of external intrusion or criminal suspicion have been confirmed so far. They are investigating the existence of a suicide note and the specific circumstances of the death. To determine the exact cause of death, the police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service.
As a result, the funeral procedures for the late Wheesung will be postponed.
The agency stated, “Due to the great shock and sorrow of the bereaved family from the sudden news, we are unable to proceed with the funeral procedures,” adding, “We plan to conduct the funeral as soon as the bereaved family is able to gather their thoughts, and it will be held quietly with only family, relatives, and close friends in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.”
