Singer and actor Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) took a moment to mourn the late Taiwanese actor Seo Hee-won during his concert in Taiwan.
Rain held the 'Still Rainin Asia Tour Concert' in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the 15th.
Having performed for the first time in Taiwan in about nine years, Rain began to mention singer Gu Jun-yeop towards the end of the concert. He said, “My beloved brother Gu Jun-yeop, it’s truly unfortunate. He is someone who is really respected in the K-pop scene,” and added, “Everyone is saddened. Let’s mourn Seo Hee-won together.”
He continued, “Although I have never met him, I think it’s necessary to mourn as a junior of Gu Jun-yeop. Let’s take 10 seconds to mourn together,” and bowed his head.
Rain then expressed, “I want to pray from afar. Please support and cheer for Gu Jun-yeop. He is the best senior, honest, and kind. Thank you all very much for joining in the mourning.”
Seo Hee-won passed away from pneumonia while traveling in Japan on the 2nd. Following his death, attention turned to the legacy he left behind. According to local media, Seo Hee-won left behind real estate worth about 25 billion won, including the site of the National Art Museum and a penthouse (worth 16 billion won), as well as a total of 120 billion won in assets, including property divided after his divorce from his ex-husband Wang So-bi.
As fake news spread regarding the inheritance of Seo Hee-won’s estate, Gu Jun-yeop stated, “Since what Hee-won worked hard to accumulate during his lifetime was to protect his beloved family, I plan to give all my rights to my mother-in-law.”
In this context, it seems that Rain also mentioned Gu Jun-yeop’s situation and made efforts to correct the fake news and false information about him.
Seo Hee-won’s funeral was held as a tree burial.
