
‘Mickey17’ has maintained its position at number one despite the influx of new releases.
According to the integrated computer network of movie ticket sales by the Korean Film Council, on the 19th, ‘Mickey17’ (directed by Bong Joon-ho) attracted 23,127 viewers, securing the top spot at the box office. The cumulative audience count stands at 2,684,802.
‘Mickey17’ features a disposable (expendable) character who is sent on dangerous missions. As Mickey faces his 17th death crisis, he is believed to be dead, leading to the printing of ‘Mickey 18’, which sets off an unpredictable story. This is Bong Joon-ho's new film following ‘Parasite’, starring actors Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, and Mark Ruffalo.
In second place is ‘Snow White’ (directed by Marc Webb), which gathered 23,047 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 23,761.
The Disney musical film ‘Snow White’, which premiered on the 19th, tells the story of Snow White, born on a winter night during a snowstorm, who flees into the forest to escape the threat of a queen who has seized the kingdom with powerful dark forces, and meets seven mysterious miners in a magical forest. Latina American actress Rachel Zegler was cast as Snow White, which sparked controversy from the casting stage.
Third place goes to the Japanese animated film ‘Attack on Titan: The Last Attack’ (directed by Yuichiro Hayashi). It attracted 16,530 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 254,667.

Fourth place is taken by ‘The Lone Gourmet: The Movie’ (directed by Yutaka Matsushige). It gathered 10,235 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 14,831.
‘The Lone Gourmet: The Movie’, which premiered on the same day as ‘Snow White’, follows the unintended adventures of Goro, a professional solo diner, as he travels from Paris, France, to a remote island in Japan, and to the southern coast of Korea and Geoje Island, all in search of the ultimate broth.
Fifth place is claimed by ‘Flow’ (directed by Gintsu Zilbalodis), which attracted 8,127 viewers, with a cumulative audience count of 14,622.
Released on the 19th, ‘Flow’ tells the dazzling adventure of a cat, a golden retriever, a capybara, a lemur, and a snake eagle as they embark on a journey to the end of the world aboard an old boat, the only refuge after a great flood has engulfed the world. It won the Best Animated Feature award at the 97th Academy Awards held on the 2nd.
