Marvel's latest ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ (hereafter ‘Captain America 4’) has climbed to the top of the box office upon its release. It also holds the overwhelming number one spot in advance ticket sales.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the morning of the 13th, ‘Captain America 4’ recorded an opening score of 123,239 viewers on the day before its release. It is undoubtedly number one at the box office.
‘Hitman 2’ has been pushed down to second place. On the same day, it attracted over 15,000 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience to 2,379,101. It has already surpassed the break-even point (2.3 million) and is enjoying a long run.
‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’ (directed by Seo Yu-min) also dropped one spot. It attracted 13,995 viewers, with a cumulative audience of about 620,000. The break-even point is around 800,000.
Song Hye-kyo’s ‘The Black Nuns’ (directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae) fell to fourth place. It received 5,721 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience to about 1.62 million. It has successfully surpassed the break-even point (1.6 million) alongside ‘Hitman 2’ and is performing well overseas.
Unfortunately, Ha Jung-woo’s ‘Broken’ has fallen out of the top 5. It is essentially a box office failure.
The real-time ticket sales leader is ‘Captain America 4’, which is recording 40.2%. Following it are ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’, Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Mickey 17’, ‘The Girl We Liked Back Then’, and ‘Exorcism’ in order.
