The movie 'Hitman 2' (directed by Choi Won-seob) has swept the weekend box office, while 'The Black Nuns' (directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae), which is also performing well, is on the verge of breaking even (1.6 million).
According to the integrated ticketing system of the Korean Film Council on the 3rd, 'Hitman 2' attracted 137,177 viewers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 1,968,744. It is expected to easily surpass the break-even point (2.3 million) as it approaches the 2 million mark.
In second place is Song Hye-kyo's 'The Black Nuns' (directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae). On the same day, it was chosen by 66,538 viewers, bringing its total audience to 1,430,388. It is also on the verge of breaking even (1.6 million).
However, in third place, 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' (directed by Seo Yu-min) is somewhat sluggish. It attracted 54,367 viewers, with a cumulative audience of 352,664. The break-even point for this film is about 800,000, which is the lowest, but it has consistently recorded single-digit audience numbers since its release, showing disappointing box office performance.
Fourth place goes to 'Harbin' (directed by Woo Min-ho). It drew 16,025 viewers, bringing its total audience to approximately 4.86 million. It has failed to surpass the break-even point (6.3 million) and is on the path to exit.
As for real-time ticket sales, 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' is currently in first place. It has approximately 33,000 pre-sales, with a booking rate of 24.4%. In second place is 'Broken,' which is set to release in two days. Following that are 'Hitman 2' and 'The Black Nuns.'
