
Kwon Sang-woo's 'Hitman 2' has topped the box office, surpassing the new releases of Song Hye-kyo and Do Kyung-soo.
According to the tally from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the morning of the 28th, 'Hitman 2' attracted 189,784 viewers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 794,671.
The film depicts the more challenging Season 2 writing journey of Jun (Kwon Sang-woo), a legendary former National Intelligence Service agent turned mega-hit writer. The sequel to the beloved 'Hitman' (2020), which featured charming comedic moments, fantastic chemistry, high-quality action, and fresh webtoon elements, along with the standout performance of Hwang Woo-seul-hye, has a break-even point of about 2.3 million.
Song Hye-kyo's 'Black Nuns' has fallen to 2nd place, attracting 162,448 viewers for a cumulative total of 768,603. Its break-even point is approximately 1.6 million.
Do Kyung-soo and Won Jin-ah's 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' debuted in 3rd place, drawing around 50,000 viewers. The film's break-even point is about 800,000.
4th place goes to 'Harbin' (directed by Woo Min-ho), which attracted 27,105 viewers on the same day, bringing its cumulative audience to about 4.67 million. Its break-even point is approximately 6.3 million.
Currently, the real-time pre-sale rate shows 'Black Nuns' in 1st place with 26.1%, closely followed by 'Hitman 2', indicating a fierce competition for the top spot. Following them, 'Secret That Cannot Be Told' is in 3rd place, while Ha Jung-woo's new film 'Broken' is in 4th place.
