Director Hong Sang-soo's new film "What Does the Nature Say to You" has been invited to the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.
On the 20th (local time), the Berlin International Film Festival office announced that Hong Sang-soo's film "What Does the Nature Say to You" has entered the competition section.
"What Does the Nature Say to You" depicts the events that unfold when a young woman introduces her boyfriend to her family. Actors Ha Sung-kyu, Kwon Hae-hyo, and Kim Min-hee star in the film.
Tricia Tuttle, the executive director, and the program directors stated, "We all loved watching your most recent work, appreciating the formal language and rhythm that make up this film, as well as the insights contained within it. We felt that 'What Does the Nature Say to You' is truly intuitive about people and the flow that runs between them. At the same time, it was sharply humorous and funny in many moments. We send our heartfelt congratulations for this film."
Director Hong Sang-soo has been invited to the Berlin International Film Festival a total of eight times, starting with "Night and Day" in 2008, followed by "Nobody's Daughter Haewon," "Alone on the Beach at Night," "The Woman Who Ran," "Introduction," "The Novelist's Film," "In the Water," and "The Traveler's Need."
Earlier, entertainment media Dispatch reported on the 17th that "Kim Min-hee is naturally pregnant with Hong Sang-soo's child" and "is expected to give birth this spring." There is growing interest in whether the two will attend the Berlin International Film Festival together.
The 75th Berlin International Film Festival will be held in Germany from February 13 to 23.
