The film is a sequel to 'The Priests', which opened a new chapter in Korean occult films, and is a new project from the film company JIB, which produced 'The Priests', 'The Day of the National Bankruptcy', 'Master', and 'Broker'.
This is also Song Hye-kyo's comeback to the screen after 10 years since 'My Brilliant Life' (2014). It tells the story of people who embark on a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. Director Kwon Hyuk-jae, known for 'Count' and 'The Solver', is at the helm.

Despite her undefeated success in TV dramas, Song Hye-kyo has not performed well on the big screen, and has been actively promoting 'The Black Nuns' by appearing on various entertainment programs ahead of its release.
She made an appearance on the entertainment talk show 'You Quiz on the Block' for the first time in 23 years, and also showcased her candid talk on her close friend Davichi's Kang Min-kyung's YouTube show 'Kyang Min-kyung', and singer Jung Jae-hyung's YouTube 'Fairy Jae-hyung'. Her enthusiasm has garnered significant attention.
