According to the data from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 14th, ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) attracted 37,257 viewers the previous day, securing the number one spot at the box office. The cumulative audience count is 4,217,670.
Released on the 24th of last month, ‘Harbin’ depicts a thrilling chase and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a single purpose in 1909 and those pursuing them. The film stars Hyun Bin, Park Jung-min, Jo Woo-jin, and Jeon Yeo-bin. With overseas sales and additional rights contracts, the break-even point has been reduced from 6.5 million to 5.8 million viewers.
In second place is ‘Firefighters’ (directed by Kwak Kyung-taek). It attracted 11,710 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience count to 3,714,691.
The long-running ‘Firefighters’ portrays the situation of firefighters who were deployed during the 2001 Hongje-dong fire disaster, focusing on their singular goal of extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone despite the harsh conditions. The film features Joo Won, Yoo Jae-myung, and Lee Yoo-young.
In third place is ‘It’s a Fairytale, but It’s Restricted’ (directed by Lee Jong-seok), which has recorded 7,037 viewers and a cumulative audience of 108,808.
Starring Park Ji-hyun, the film ‘It’s a Fairytale, but It’s Restricted’ is a comedy about a fairy tale writer who, while working as a public servant regulating adult content, reluctantly writes a 19+ web novel and unexpectedly discovers her talent for writing sacred stories.
