The Jeong Jin-ki Journalism Culture Award selected its winners through rigorous evaluation and discussion by top experts in each field. The candidates for the award were those who passed the document review in four categories: Science and Technology Research Award, Venture Business Startup Award, Knowledge and Culture Creation Award, and Economic Management Book Award, as well as nominees recommended by the respective committees. The recommendation committee and judging panel, consisting of 40 members, selected a total of 11 winners (including one company) through strict evaluation.

The Science and Technology Research Award was chaired by Han Min-goo, Emeritus Professor at Seoul National University (photo), the Venture Business Startup Award by Kwon Oh-kyung, Chair Professor at Hanyang University, the Knowledge and Culture Creation Award by Kim Sun-jung, Artistic Director of Artsonje Center, and the Economic Management Book Award by Kim Wan-jin, Professor of Economics at Seoul National University. The emeritus professor stated, "It was confirmed that the expertise of the candidates has increased, and the diversity in the technology field is comparable to global standards," adding, "All members evaluated fairly and carefully to select the winners."
