
Singer Lee Hyori has donated 100 million won to support areas affected by wildfires.
According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association on the 27th, Lee Hyori donated 100 million won to support the wildfire-affected areas in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
Lee Hyori stated, “Upon hearing the news of the residents who suffered greatly from the wildfires, I felt deep sorrow and decided to donate with the hope that it would provide practical help,” and added, “I hope everyone can return to their peaceful daily lives as soon as possible, even amidst this sudden disaster.”
Lee Hyori is known for her ongoing charitable activities, including animal protection and support for socially vulnerable groups.
It has been reported that the simultaneous wildfire incidents in the Gyeongsang region have resulted in 26 fatalities and a total of 56 casualties.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters on the 27th, as of 6 AM that day, the casualties included 26 deaths, 8 serious injuries, and 22 minor injuries.
By region, Gyeongbuk had the highest number of casualties with 22 deaths, 3 serious injuries, and 16 minor injuries, totaling 41. Gyeongnam reported 4 deaths, 5 serious injuries, and 4 minor injuries, totaling 13, while Ulsan had 2 minor injuries.
