Singer and musical actress Ok Joo-hyun posted a lengthy tribute recalling her connection with the late Wheesung.

On the 11th, Ok Joo-hyun shared a past video of her performing a duet with Wheesung on her Instagram, stating, “It was 2004 back then, so it’s been over 20 years.”

She reminisced, “In our 20s, we focused solely on ‘various vocal lessons’ and attended many lessons together. It was a time when we were passionate about vocal discussions,” adding, “Thanks to him, I enjoyed standing in front of the soundproof wall for hours during rock vocal lessons, and I was so excited exploring various lessons during that time.”

She continued, “We were those students who dug deep into vocal training, oblivious to the passage of time, sharing and pouring our hearts into it. Just like the phrase ‘people from that time,’ we must have been busy living passionately in our respective places since then. But I live without forgetting how much strength you gave me during those days as my vocal lesson comrade, Wheesung.”

Ok Joo-hyun also expressed, “I hope you are happy there, with the moments filled with love and joy, and that vibrant passion for music. I will pray for your peace and remember you.”

Wheesung was found dead at his home in Seoul on the afternoon of the 10th, at the age of 43.

His agency stated on the 11th, “Due to the sudden news, the family is in great shock and sorrow, and we are unable to proceed with the funeral arrangements. We will proceed with the funeral as soon as the family’s heart is settled.”
