Actress Kim Sae-ron has passed away. She was 25 years old.
According to the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul on the 16th, Kim was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu on that day.
The police received a related report around 4:50 PM and dispatched to the scene. It is reported that a friend who had made plans to meet with Kim visited her home and discovered her, subsequently reporting to the police.
The police stated that no signs of external intrusion or criminal activity were found. A police official said, “We are investigating the exact circumstances of her death.”
Kim Sae-ron debuted as a model for a children's magazine in 2001 and gained recognition for her performance in the 2010 film "The Man from Nowhere." She later appeared in films such as "The Neighbors," and dramas including "Witch's Diary," "Love Playlist Season 4," and "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim."
In May 2022, Kim Sae-ron was involved in a drunk driving incident in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where she crashed into guardrails, trees, and a transformer more than three times. At the time, her blood alcohol concentration was reported to be 0.2%, well above the license suspension level (0.08%). Kim was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act and was sentenced to a fine of 20 million won. As a result of this incident, she withdrew from the SBS drama "Trolley" and was edited out of the Netflix drama "Hunting Dogs." She had completed filming for the movie "Guitar Man" last year and is awaiting its release.
