The funeral of Seo Hee-won, the wife of Gu Jun-yeop, a member of the group Clon and a Taiwanese actress, was held as a tree burial.
According to multiple Taiwanese media outlets on the 15th, Seo Hee-won's tree burial took place on the 14th. Meanwhile, on the day before the burial, the 13th, friends of Seo Hee-won held a farewell ceremony at her former home.
On the 14th, a close friend of the deceased, Jia Yongjie, attended an event and drew attention by mentioning Gu Jun-yeop's condition. Jia Yongjie explained, "Gu Jun-yeop has lost a lot of weight and looks emaciated. He seems to have lost about 6kg, which has worried his friends."
Seo Hee-won suddenly passed away on the 2nd after going on a family trip to Japan, where she contracted pneumonia along with the flu.
Seo Hee-won debuted in 1994 with her younger brother in the group 'SOS' and gained great popularity in Korea for her role as Shan Chai in the Taiwanese drama 'Boys Over Flowers.' In Korea, she was also known as 'Taiwanese Geum Jan-di,' named after the lead female character in a domestic drama.
Seo Hee-won dated Gu Jun-yeop for about two years in the late 1990s before they broke up. She later married Chinese businessman Wang Shao-bi (Wang Xiao-fei) in 2011. However, they separated in 2021, and after Gu Jun-yeop learned of this news, they got back in touch and reunited. The two became a couple in 2022.
