Koo Jun-yup, a member of the group Clon, shared his feelings after the death of his wife, the late Taiwanese actress Seo Hee-won. His heartfelt confession about wanting to protect Seo Hee-won's family has led colleagues and netizens to mourn the deceased and offer their support.
On the 6th, Koo Jun-yup posted a lengthy message on Instagram, starting with, "On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven."
He expressed, "I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who mourns for Hee-won," adding, "Right now, I am going through a time of pain that feels like my intestines are being torn apart, filled with indescribable sadness and suffering. I have no strength to say anything, nor do I want to."
He continued, "Before the immense pain of loss and mourning could pass, devilish people began to slander our family and my love. Some pretend to be sad while wandering in the rain, and others create fake news about insurance and costs to hurt our family," revealing, "I even feel scared thinking, 'There are really such bad people in the world.'"
He pleaded, "Please, can't you just stay quiet so that our Hee-won can rest in peace? I earnestly ask you."
Koo Jun-yup also mentioned the inheritance of Seo Hee-won, which was covered by Taiwanese media.
He stated, "All of that inheritance was gathered through Hee-won's hard work to protect her beloved family during her lifetime, so I plan to give all authority regarding it to my mother-in-law," explaining, "I will take legal measures to protect the children's rights through a lawyer until they become adults, so that bad people cannot touch them."
Previously, Taiwanese media such as Dongsen Broadcasting (ETTV) reported that Seo Hee-won's inheritance is estimated to be at least 600 million yuan (approximately 120 billion KRW). The late star, who was a top star in Taiwan, was known to own real estate worth about 25 billion KRW, including the site of the National Museum of Fine Arts and a penthouse. It was speculated that when combined with the assets she received from her ex-husband, businessman Wang Shao-bi (Wang Xiao-pei), after their divorce, it would exceed 600 million yuan.
Koo Jun-yup conveyed his sincerity, saying, "The time I spent with Hee-won was a precious and invaluable gift that I would not trade for anything in the world," and added, "I believe that protecting Hee-won's beloved family is the last thing I can do. Lastly, I bow my head in gratitude once again to everyone who loved and mourned for our Hee-won."
Colleagues also left messages of support and remembrance for the deceased in response to Koo Jun-yup's sincerity.
