Koo Jun-yeop expressed his painful feelings as the late Seo Hee-won returned to Taiwan today (6th) with her remains.
On this day, Koo Jun-yeop posted a lengthy message on his social media, starting with, "On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven."
He expressed, "I would like to extend my deep gratitude to all those who mourn for Hee-won," and added, "Right now, I am going through a time of pain that feels like my intestines are being cut, in indescribable sadness and suffering. I have no strength to say anything, nor do I want to."
He continued, "Before the immense pain of loss and mourning could pass, devilish people began to slander my family and my love. Some pretend to be sad while wandering in the rain, and others are creating fake news about insurance and costs to hurt our family," revealing, "I am even afraid thinking, 'Such bad people really exist in this world.'"
He pleaded, "Please, can’t you just stay quiet so that our Hee-won can rest in peace? I earnestly ask you."
Regarding the 120 billion won inheritance of Seo Hee-won reported by Taiwanese media, he explained, "All of that inheritance was gathered through Hee-won's hard work to protect her beloved family during her lifetime, so I plan to give all rights to my mother-in-law," adding, "I will take legal measures to protect the children's rights through a lawyer until they become adults, so that bad people cannot touch them."
Koo Jun-yeop stated, "The time I spent with Hee-won was a precious and invaluable gift that I would not trade for anything in the world," and expressed, "I believe that protecting the family Hee-won loved the most is the last thing I can do." He sincerely thanked everyone who loved and mourned for Hee-won once again.
Earlier, Seo Hee-won suddenly passed away from pneumonia accompanied by the flu during a family trip to Japan on the 2nd. The bereaved family completed the cremation process for the deceased in Japan. According to Japanese funeral regulations, the body must be cremated within three days.
Seo Hee-won debuted in 1994 as part of the group 'SOS' with her younger brother and is also famous for being the female lead in the Taiwanese drama 'Boys Over Flowers.' In Korea, she is known as 'Taiwanese Geum Jan-di,' named after the female lead in a domestic drama.
Seo Hee-won also drew attention for her movie-like love story with Koo Jun-yeop. Seo Hee-won dated Koo Jun-yeop for about two years in the late 1990s before breaking up, and later married Chinese businessman Wang Shao-fei in 2011. However, they divorced in 2021, and upon hearing this news, Koo Jun-yeop reached out to Seo Hee-won, leading to their reunion. The two became a couple in 2022 after a 20-year wait, but their tragic separation came just three years later.

On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven.
First, I would like to extend my deep gratitude to all those who mourn for Hee-won.
Right now, I am going through a time of pain that feels like my intestines are being cut, in indescribable sadness and suffering.
I have no strength to say anything, nor do I want to.
However, before the immense pain of loss and mourning could pass, devilish people began to slander my family and my love.
Some pretend to be sad while wandering in the rain, and others are creating fake news about insurance and costs to hurt our family.
I am even afraid thinking, 'Such bad people really exist in this world...'
Please, can’t you just stay quiet so that our Hee-won can rest in peace?
I earnestly ask you.
And I would like to talk about the precious inheritance left by Hee-won.
All of that inheritance was gathered through Hee-won's hard work to protect her beloved family during her lifetime, so I plan to give all rights to my mother-in-law.
I will take legal measures to protect the children's rights through a lawyer until they become adults, so that bad people cannot touch them.
The time I spent with Hee-won was a precious and invaluable gift that I would not trade for anything in the world.
I believe that protecting the family Hee-won loved the most is the last thing I can do.
Finally, I bow my head in gratitude once again to everyone who loved and mourned for our Hee-won.
- Hee-won's eternal love, Jun-yeop -
