
Taiwanese actress Hsu Shi-yuan (48), the wife of rapper and DJ Koo Jun-yeop (56) from the group Clon, passed away from influenza and pneumonia in Japan, prompting stars from the Chinese-speaking world to pay their respects.
Hong Kong actor Andy Lau (Liu Dehua) posted a tribute on social media, saying, "I remember the talented actress Barbie Hsu (the English name of Se Hee-won) who touched many hearts. May she rest in peace."
Popular Taiwanese actor Wu Zhongxuan (O Zhong-han) expressed, "I hope she has a good journey." Zhu Xiaotian (Zhu Hyo-cheon), who starred alongside Hsu Shi-yuan in the drama "Meteor Garden," shared, "A bolt from the blue," revealing his shock and sorrow.
Yan Chengxu (Yen Cheng-hsi) who played the male lead Dao Ming Si in "Meteor Garden," conveyed his final farewell through his agency, saying, "Thank you for meeting you."
Zhu Xiaotian, who also starred with Se Hee-won in "Meteor Garden," expressed his sorrow by saying, "A bolt from the blue," while Lin Ziling said, "It really hurts," sharing her condolences.
Se Hee-won passed away on the morning of the 2nd, due to pneumonia caused by influenza while traveling in Japan with her family. She was 48 years old. It is reported that she had been experiencing cold and asthma symptoms since her departure for Japan on the 29th of last month.
Se Hee-won's close friend Jia Yong-ji revealed on social media that her husband Koo Jun-yeop was with her at the end. Jia Yong-ji shared, "Endless tears and indescribable sadness; no matter how much I cried, I couldn't wake you from your sleep. In the end, Koo Jun-yeop gave a gentle farewell with a deep kiss, and we all had our hearts torn apart by his cries. Since we said goodbye in love, I hope to meet again."
The deceased's body is scheduled to be cremated in Japan and transported to Taiwan, where discussions are ongoing regarding separate funeral procedures in Taiwan.
