Chef Ahn Yoo-sung, who appeared on 'Black and White Chef', visited the families of the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster.
On the afternoon of the 30th, Chef Ahn visited Muan Airport and delivered 200 servings of kimbap to the families of the victims.
Operating a Japanese restaurant in Seo-gu, Gwangju, he said, "My heart is heavy and I feel so sorry that I ran out while working. The PD who worked with me on the show also passed away. I thought that serving food would ease my heart, so I came out."
Chef Ahn plans to prepare tteokguk (rice cake soup) to share with the families on New Year's Day, January 1.
Chef Ahn stated, "Most of the victims are locals, so they are close acquaintances just one degree of separation away," and added, "As someone who cooks, I thought I should serve food."
Chef Ahn Yoo-sung gained attention for his appearance on Netflix's 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Warfare'. He is the 16th Culinary Master of Korea, and his Japanese restaurant is famous for being frequented by former and current presidents, including Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, Moon Jae-in, and Yoon Suk-yeol, whenever they visit Gwangju.
