The production team explained, “’Good Day’ is a program that is pre-produced at least one week, and up to two weeks, before the broadcast due to translation procedures during overseas broadcasting/distribution.” They added, “The fifth episode that aired yesterday was urgently edited to remove Kim Soo-hyun’s appearance from the ‘Good Day General Assembly’ after the controversy escalated, and it was re-uploaded under the agreement of MBC and global OTT platforms. As a result, the fifth episode was about 10 minutes shorter than the previous episodes and lacked detail.”
Regarding the delay in editing Kim Soo-hyun’s appearance on ‘Good Day’, they explained, “Regarding the recording that took place on March 13, the recording of ‘Good Day’ was delayed, and the production team was waiting for an official statement from Kim Soo-hyun’s agency regarding the controversy. However, due to the agency’s plan to make a statement the following week (as of March 13) and the difficulty in securing the participants' schedules after that day, we had no choice but to proceed with the recording after much deliberation.”
They continued, “After careful discussion, the production team proceeded with the recording and sketch filming with the intention of deleting portions, ensuring that it did not overlap with other participants as much as possible. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to those who love ‘Good Day’ during this process.”
The production team stated, “As long as the controversy surrounding the participants continues, we believe that the purpose of ‘Good Day’, which started with good intentions, as well as the feelings of the participants who sincerely joined, and the love from viewers who empathize and support us, may continue to be harmed. The content of the ‘Good Day General Assembly’ that was revealed from the latter part of the fifth episode was filmed on February 18, and it will unfold over the next 6-7 episodes. The production team has decided to edit Kim Soo-hyun’s appearance as much as possible. The individual recording process of the relevant participant on March 13 will not be broadcast.”
