The autopsy of singer Wheesung, who suddenly passed away, will be conducted today (12th).
The National Forensic Service (NFS) plans to perform an autopsy on the deceased's body this morning to investigate the exact cause of death, including whether drug use was involved.
Wheesung was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the 10th. He was 43 years old.
Police and fire authorities responded to a report and arrived at the scene around 6:29 PM that day, but Wheesung was already deceased at the time of discovery, and it is believed that a significant amount of time had passed since his death, so they are focusing on understanding the specific circumstances. Additionally, while no signs of external intrusion or criminal activity have been confirmed, it has been reported that a syringe was found nearby at the time of discovery.
Accordingly, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service on the 11th to investigate the specific cause of death of the late Wheesung.
The family of the deceased plans to proceed with cremation immediately after the autopsy is completed. In accordance with the family's wishes to hold a quiet funeral, no memorial space will be set up.
Wheesung's agency, Taz Entertainment, stated, "The bereaved family plans to proceed with the funeral procedures as soon as they feel ready, and the funeral will be held quietly with only family, relatives, and close friends in attendance, as per the family's wishes."
They added, "We earnestly request that unverified rumors and speculative reports be refrained from, for the sake of the bereaved family who are in great shock and sorrow."
