Singer and musical actress Ok Joo-hyun reminisced about the past with the late singer Wheesung as she paid tribute to him.
On the 11th, Ok Joo-hyun shared a video of herself singing with Wheesung on a broadcast from 2004 on her social media, mourning the deceased.
“Wheesung, the person from that time… I hope you find peace there”

Ok Joo-hyun reflected on the time when she and Wheesung were pouring their passion into music during their vocal lessons, saying, “We were clumsy and unaware of time as we dug into vocal training, sharing and enjoying the world during our joyful days as vocal students, and we were such colleagues as singers.”
She continued, “There’s a saying about people from that time. After that, we must have been busy living our lives with passion in our respective places, but I will never forget how much strength you gave me during those days as my fellow vocal training comrade, Wheesung.”
She added, “I hope you are happy there, with the moments filled with love and the vibrant passion you had for music. I will pray for your peace and remember you, my dear.”
Wheesung, sudden news just five days before the concert
Wheesung was found collapsed in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 6:29 PM on the 10th. He was scheduled to perform in a joint concert ‘The Story’ with singer KCM at the Daegu Expo Auditorium on the 15th, and just a few days prior, he had teased fans about the stage, saying, “Diet is over. See you on the 15th,” which added to the shock.
The police have requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death, and the autopsy is scheduled to take place on the morning of the 12th. The family is reportedly planning to proceed with cremation without setting up a separate memorial service after the autopsy.
Fans, as well as colleagues in the music industry, are deeply saddened by the sudden news. Many colleagues, including Ok Joo-hyun, who have shared the stage with Wheesung, are expressing their condolences and cannot hide their sorrow.
