Actress Jeon Hye-jin expressed the struggles of working moms.
On the afternoon of the 25th, an online press conference for the Genie TV original drama 'Riding Life' was held. Attending the event were actors Jeon Hye-jin, Jo Min-soo, Jung Jin-young, Jeon Seok-ho, and director Kim Cheol-kyu.
In 'Riding Life', Jeon Hye-jin will passionately portray Lee Jeong-eun, a dedicated working mom who wants to excel in both work and parenting. She humorously shared the reason for choosing the role, saying, "My best friend's name is Lee Jeong-eun. She is the CEO of my agency."
She continued, "I also have a lot of interest in education. Once you have the title of 'mom', especially in South Korea, it draws attention to the story of the Daechi Academy area. It’s heartbreaking and pitiful. There are also stories about mothers, which attracted me."
Regarding the character's synchronization with her own thoughts, Jeon Hye-jin said it was '70%', explaining, "I think it’s because I work and have kids. However, I wonder if I am as passionate as Jeong-eun. I think a lot about education, but I often question if I am doing the right thing. I am still struggling with it, and while I am doing my best to adapt to the situation, I don’t think I am as dedicated as Jeong-eun."
Jeon Hye-jin expressed her desire to support and encourage mothers like Jeong-eun in reality, saying, "No matter what, I am doing my best. The path may diverge, and I sometimes think, 'I shouldn't have done that,' but I really wanted to offer my support."
'Riding Life' is a drama depicting the life of a passionate working mom, Jeong-eun, who entrusts her mother, Jia, with her daughter's '7-year exam' academy riding, showcasing the struggles of three generations of women in the Daechi-dong area. It will premiere on March 3 at 10 PM.
