Actor Won Bin visited the funeral of the late Kim Sae-ron to bid farewell on her final journey.
On the afternoon of the 17th, Won Bin paid his respects at Kim Sae-ron's funeral, which was set up in Room 7 of the Seoul Asan Hospital in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Before visiting the funeral home, he sent a wreath with the name of his wife, Lee Na-young, and personally visited the funeral home to express his deep condolences.

Won Bin starred alongside Kim Sae-ron in the 2010 film "Uncle." In the film, he played the role of Tae-sik, a former special agent, while Kim Sae-ron portrayed Somi, a girl from next door who was kidnapped by a criminal organization, delivering a powerful emotional performance. "Uncle" was a massive success, attracting 6.17 million viewers, and through this work, Won Bin was recognized as a leading actor, while Kim Sae-ron established herself as a beloved child actress. Notably, the scene where Tae-sik (Won Bin) hugs Somi (Kim Sae-ron) and says, “You stand alone,” remains in the memories of many.
Although Won Bin has been inactive in acting for over 15 years, he personally visited the funeral home to express his condolences following the sudden news of Kim Sae-ron's passing.

On that day, in addition to Won Bin, actors Han So-hee, Kim Bo-ra, broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu, and AKMU's Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Soo-hyun also visited the funeral home to pay their respects. Many colleagues and juniors shared their sorrow as they bid farewell to the deceased.
Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 4:45 PM on the 16th. It is reported that a friend discovered her when visiting and called the police. The police stated, “There are no signs of external intrusion or criminal suspicion, and no suicide note was found.”
Kim Sae-ron's funeral will be held at 6:20 AM on the 19th, and the burial site has not yet been determined.
The Youngest Actor at Cannes, Finally Departed
In 2009, Kim Sae-ron began her acting career by being cast in the Korean-French co-production film "The Traveler," directed by Lee Chang-dong, after overcoming a competition rate of 1000:1. In 2010, she gained public recognition through "Uncle," and later received acclaim for her deep performances in several works, including "Dohee-ya" and "The Snowy Road."
She walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival as the youngest actress from South Korea with "The Traveler," and in 2014, she was invited to Cannes again with "Dohee-ya," making her the only actress to experience Cannes twice before the age of 15.
Meanwhile, Won Bin has been inactive in official acting activities since "Uncle," continuing only as a model for advertisements. Since the end of his coffee brand model contract last January, there have been no updates on his next project.
