‘Uncle’ Won Bin visited the funeral of the late Kim Sae Ron to say his final goodbye.
Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 16th. She was 25 years old. Her funeral was held in Room 7 of the Seoul Asan Hospital funeral hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, with her parents and her siblings, actors Kim Aaron and Kim Ye Ron, listed as the bereaved family.
As tributes to Kim Sae Ron continued, actor Won Bin, who starred alongside her in ‘Uncle,’ also sent a wreath of condolence with his wife Lee Na Young and visited the funeral in person.
The film ‘Uncle,’ released in 2010, was the work that brought Kim Sae Ron's name to prominence and was also Won Bin's last official project. Although Won Bin has not engaged in acting or special entertainment activities since ‘Uncle,’ he visited the funeral to say goodbye after hearing the news of the late actress's passing.
In addition to Won Bin, actors Han So Hee and Kim Bora, who were known to be close friends, also visited the funeral to pay their respects. Kim Bora sent a wreath with the message, “When we meet again, I’ll cut down on the nagging,” mourning the deceased. Others, including Gong Myung, who was from the same agency in the past, Astro's MJ, Jin Jin, Ma Dong Seok, Seo Ye Ji, IU, and the group FT Island, also expressed their condolences through wreaths. The family of the late Astro member Moon Bin, who was a close friend, also conveyed their condolences with a wreath, and the actor's agency Blitzway Studio also paid tribute through a wreath.
Kim Sae Ron, who debuted in the 2009 film ‘The Traveler,’ gained recognition for her acting skills through works such as ‘Uncle,’ ‘The Neighbors,’ ‘Dohuiya,’ ‘Manshin,’ and dramas like ‘Queen’s Classroom’ and ‘The Shaman Kim.’
However, after an accident in May 2022, where she crashed into a streetlight and transformer while driving under the influence in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, she withdrew from scheduled projects and halted her acting activities. She was set to return through the play ‘Dongchimi’ last year but had to drop out due to health reasons, which led to the cancellation of her comeback.
Recently, she aimed to make a comeback by appearing in the low-budget musical film ‘Guitar Man,’ but ultimately, ‘Guitar Man’ became her last work.
