Broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu has once again expressed his stance regarding the allegations of bystanding in the bullying of the late Oh Yoanna.
"The family encouraged me to clarify... It's a delicate matter, but I will state my position."
On the 11th, Jang Seong-kyu opened up by saying, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the deceased and the family" through his social media.
He explained that "the family originally wanted to find peace before making a statement," but added, "However, the family felt sorry for me being in a situation of secondary harm and actively encouraged me to clarify," explaining the reason for his post.
"The first meeting with the late Oh Yoanna... I was asked for counseling."
Jang Seong-kyu recalled, "I first met the deceased around 2022. It was after finishing a radio broadcast and going to exercise."
"The deceased requested counseling, and we had a meal together where I listened to her concerns regarding 'Yoo Quiz'."
"I felt that my comfort alone was not enough, so I suggested to caster Kim Ga-young, who I thought was close to and fond of the deceased, that we help together."
Jang Seong-kyu mentioned that he sensed "the relationship between the two (the late Oh Yoanna and Kim Ga-young) was different from before."
"I did not convey any messages between them."
"Allegations that I relayed messages are not true."
He warned that he would "take legal action" against excessive secondary harm.
Previously, the late Oh Yoanna ended her life at the age of 28 in September of last year.
The family released a 17-page letter stating, "The deceased had been suffering from ongoing pain due to workplace bullying."
MBC weather casters Lee Hyun-seung, Kim Ga-young, Park Ha-myung, and Choi Ah-ri were named as perpetrators.
The YouTube channel 'Garo-Setaro Research Institute' raised suspicions that Kim Ga-young had instigated discord between Jang Seong-kyu and the late Oh Yoanna by releasing a recording of a call with an MBC official.
"Jang Seong-kyu, despite clarifying, the controversy continues... Legal action anticipated in the future."
On the 5th, Jang Seong-kyu also expressed his grievances by sharing hateful comments directed at him and his children on social media.
Jang Seong-kyu clarified again at the request of the family, but it seems the controversy will not easily subside.
