Bae Soo-yeon, a former MBC weathercaster, mourned the death of the late Oh Yoanna and revealed her past experiences while urging a thorough investigation.
On the 2nd, Bae Soo-yeon shared on her social media, “My heart is so broken. I don’t know what to say about such a tragic event happening in MBC, especially in the weather team I was part of,” expressing her deep sorrow.
She continued, “I can only feel devastated by the news that comes in every day,” and added, “It was the same when I left MBC. No one paid attention to my voice as a freelance weathercaster. MBC, the news department, the weather team…” revealing her experiences.

She stated, “It was a job and workplace I loved so much, but I had no choice but to leave after learning about the dark side of it. I thought things would have changed a bit by now, but to see that nothing has changed this much… I hope the truth is revealed through a thorough investigation so that no one suffers injustice,” she emphasized.
Bae Soo-yeon added, “I hope my junior Oh Yoanna does not suffer there. If only we could have met just once… I pray for the soul of the deceased,” and included the hashtags ‘#OhYoanna #MBC #Investigation’.

Meanwhile, Bae Soo-yeon joined MBC as a weathercaster in 2005 and left in 2010, and is currently active as a freelance announcer.

Oh Yoanna, who suddenly passed away last September, joined MBC as a weathercaster in 2021 and was responsible for news weather. Although the cause of death was not clearly revealed at the time, a new context emerged when the Daily Newspaper published a suicide note of about 17 pages on the 27th of last month. The note included content about being bullied by some fellow weathercasters at work, causing a stir.
