According to the financial sector on the 15th, on the 7th, which marked the 43rd anniversary of its founding, Shinhan Bank distributed 500,000 won worth of Ddaenggyeo gift certificates in addition to the existing welfare points of 500,000 won. The welfare points are cash-like points that can be used to purchase electronics and various household items from the welfare mall, which are distributed annually, and this time, additional coupons that can be used for the delivery app were given.
It has been confirmed that the coupons were distributed to about 12,000 employees, excluding those currently not working due to leave, amounting to approximately 6 billion won. Employees can access the Ddaenggyeo app to register the 500,000 won worth of coupons. The mutual delivery app Ddaenggyeo was created during the time when Jin Ok-dong, the chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, was the head of Shinhan Bank, as a non-financial service. Recently, it has been expanding its service area in partnership with the Seoul city government and others. It started with the intention of supporting mutual growth by lowering delivery fees compared to other delivery apps.
This measure is said to have been directly instructed by Shinhan Bank's CEO Jung Sang-hyuk (photo) to provide additional support. The idea was that if employees spread across the country start consuming, it could help small business owners who are struggling in the difficult economic situation.
A representative from Shinhan Bank explained, "With over 10,000 bank employees, we thought about how to provide welfare benefits to them, and we decided to implement the Ddaenggyeo coupon distribution, which can be used in a delivery service that everyone prefers while also helping small business owners."
Since 2022, Shinhan Bank has also been providing support funds to restaurant owners using the Ddaenggyeo service, allowing them to offer discounts every time a customer places an order under the item 'Owner Support Fund'. As of the end of June 2025, the total amount of support funds provided to restaurant owners is 47 billion won, benefiting a total of 200,000 franchise stores.
