‘Undercover High School’ has released a highlight video ahead of its premiere.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘Undercover High School’ (written by Lim Young-bin, directed by Choi Jung-in), which will air for the first time on the 21st at 9:50 PM, tells the story of a National Intelligence Service agent who goes undercover as a high school student to track down the whereabouts of Emperor Gojong's missing gold bars.
Ahead of the premiere, the highlight video released today (19th) depicts the tumultuous school life of Jung Hae-sung (played by Seo Kang-joon), who oscillates between seriousness and comedy.
The video begins with Hae-sung entering the school on a mission to recover 800 billion won worth of gold bars. However, his homeroom teacher, Oh Soo-ah (played by Jin Ki-joo), expresses suspicion, saying, “He might not be a student at all,” and gives sharp looks to Hae-sung's National Intelligence Service team members, Ahn Seok-ho (played by Jeon Bae-soo), Park Mi-jung (played by Yoon Ga-i), and Ko Young-hoon (played by Jo Bok-rae). Amidst this, an emergency situation arises for Hae-sung, leading to a chaotic moment for the four teams in the country, providing viewers with a thrilling laugh.
Hae-sung's adaptation to school life is also a point of humor. Faced with dismal exam results, he immerses himself in studying while getting entangled with problem students, leading to unexpected situations. Moreover, having caught the attention of his homeroom teacher Soo-ah, Hae-sung is set to bring excitement to the drama with unpredictable events at every turn.
Hae-sung's pursuit of urban legends is also intriguing. The scene where Hae-sung confronts Myung-joo creates a chilling tension, and despite being warned by Lee Dong-min (played by Shin Joon-hang) not to enter a building related to the urban legend, he embarks on the investigation. Soo-ah also joins in to uncover the truth behind the urban legend, raising curiosity about what the hidden truth is and why Hae-sung, Soo-ah, and Myung-joo are pursuing it.
Meanwhile, although Hae-sung and Soo-ah meet as teacher and student, their relationship is said to change over time. The tension between the two, who growl at each other whenever they meet, adds excitement and anticipation for the main broadcast.
In this way, ‘Undercover High School’ is a collection of various genres, including comedy, romance, and action, greatly raising the expectations of prospective viewers. Additionally, the combination of unique actors like Seo Kang-joon, Jin Ki-joo, and Kim Shin-rok draws attention to the acting parade they will present.
