In ‘Study Group’, Hwang Min-hyun and the study group delivered a decisive blow to Cha Woo-min.
In episodes 7 and 8 of the Tving original ‘Study Group’ (directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang, written by Um Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Y Lab Plex, provided by Tving), which was released on the 13th, Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Min-hyun) and the study group members infiltrated the YB Talent Development Center to save Kim Soon-cheol (played by Joo Hyun-woo), who was on the verge of being falsely accused of murder. The tension escalated as the study group, having taken their first midterm exams, all succeeded in improving their grades, and a notice from the student council regarding Pi Han-ul (played by Cha Woo-min) was posted at Yuseong High School.
On that day, Lee Han-kyung (played by Han Ji-eun) confessed that Oh Jung-hwa (played by Kim Jung-young) was her former mentor and declared that she would restore Yuseong High School to its former glory. At that moment, Yoon Ga-min entered the auditorium and launched a preemptive strike against Pi Han-ul, warning, “It hurts because it’s true, right? You’re just an ordinary person. So stop being so arrogant,” causing another stir at Yuseong High School. Meanwhile, Yoon Ga-min felt another sincerity from Kim Soon-cheol, whom he encountered by chance. While they were having an honest conversation, they were interrupted by Chae Seon-ho (played by Kang Yoon) and Kim Jae-seung (played by Park Jae-hwi), who were in charge of the reserve forces training. The day after Kim Soon-cheol disappeared following the Yeonbaek faction, shocking news broke: the perpetrator who killed a man with a weapon last night was Kim Soon-cheol. Even while being interrogated by Detective Na Tae-man (played by Shim Woo-sung), Yoon Ga-min could not shake the thought that Kim Soon-cheol was not the murderer.
Believing in Kim Soon-cheol's innocence, Yoon Ga-min was joined by Kim Se-hyun (played by Lee Jong-hyun) and Choi Hee-won (played by Yoon Sang-jung). The two discovered that the youth crime rate had increased since Pi Han-ul's admission. The study group members decided to trust the ‘studious gaze’ that Kim Soon-cheol had shown Yoon Ga-min. Following the circumstances that the reserve forces were taking the blame for the crimes committed by the Yeonbaek faction executives, they decided to infiltrate the YB Group Talent Development Center. The Talent Development Center, where they posed as reserve forces, was fraught with danger. While trying to avoid Pi Han-ul and the Yeonbaek faction, Yoon Ga-min found himself trapped by a rooftop lock, and Lee Ji-woo was caught by Chae Seon-ho while searching for the knife that would exonerate Kim Soon-cheol. Lee Joon faced off in a fierce battle against the reserve forces member Seo Yoo-bi (played by Lee Dong-hoon).
At that moment, an unexpected figure appeared at the Talent Development Center. Kim Soon-cheol, who was heading to the police station to falsely confess, changed his mind after Na Tae-man's heartfelt persuasion and showed up. However, the power of the Yeonbaek faction member Chae Seon-ho was formidable. Just as the situation seemed dire, Yoon Ga-min appeared wielding nunchaku and unleashed his uncle's forbidden technique, the ‘Zero-Inch Punch,’ defeating Chae Seon-ho.
With Kim Soon-cheol determined to start anew after being exonerated, the first midterm exam for the study group approached. After the exam, Yoon Ga-min received an urgent call informing him that Kim Soon-cheol's grandfather was critically ill. After helping his grandfather through his final exam, Kim Soon-cheol had to say goodbye, breaking down in tears. The study group achieved their goal of improving all members' rankings by at least 10 places. And as promised, Lee Han-kyung successfully obtained the approval of the head of the academic affairs department to post the notice for the opening of the Pi Han-ul Student Council. The significant ending of Pi Han-ul, who turned away while quietly observing the fighting students at the noisy Yuseong High School, heightened the tension and left viewers curious about the next chapter of the study group and Pi Han-ul.
