The group STAYC has announced the postponement of their new album promotion schedule following the news of the passing of late Wheesung.
On the 11th, their agency High Up Entertainment stated on STAYC's official SNS, "The promotion schedule for STAYC's fifth single album 'S', originally set for the 11th and 13th, has been postponed as follows."
According to the announcement, the teaser for STAYC's title track 'BEBE' will be released on the 12th, and the highlight medley will be released on the 14th.
The agency expressed, "We extend our deep condolences for the unfortunate news in the music industry and ask for the understanding of the fans. We pray for the repose of the deceased."
Earlier on the 10th, it was reported that Wheesung was found dead at his home in Seoul, having suffered cardiac arrest. He was 43 years old.
Upon receiving a report from Wheesung's family, the police who arrived at the scene found no signs of external intrusion or criminal activity and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.
Wheesung's agency, Tajo Entertainment, stated on the 11th, "We will proceed with the funeral arrangements as soon as the family is able to gather their thoughts, and the funeral will be held quietly with only family, relatives, and close friends in accordance with the family's wishes," adding, "We express our deep condolences for the deceased's final journey."
