CJ CGV is collaborating with Samsung Electronics and Harman International (hereinafter referred to as 'Harman') to introduce a future-oriented cinema.

On the 18th, CJ CGV announced that it had signed a business agreement with Samsung Electronics and Harman the previous day regarding the 'Construction of Future Cinema through AI Cinema Innovation'. The signing ceremony took place at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, attended by CJ CGV CEO Jeong Jong-min, Samsung Electronics Korea General Manager Lim Sung-taek, and Harman Asia-Pacific and India General Manager Amar Subash, among other representatives from the three companies.

Through this agreement, the three companies plan to provide a differentiated customer experience based on advanced technologies and AI solutions applied in areas such as screens, sound, and space.

By introducing Samsung Electronics' next-generation cinema LED screens in CGV theaters, customers will experience clearer and more vivid picture quality, and Harman's 3D sound solutions will be applied to maximize immersion.

Additionally, Samsung Electronics' customer-tailored solution 'SmartThings' will be introduced to integrate and control various environmental and facility devices in the cinema, including the cinema's air conditioning system, to enhance customer convenience.

With the application of 'SmartThings', the lighting will be automatically adjusted according to the brightness of the screen in the theater, and temperature, humidity, and air purification functions can be controlled based on the number of viewers. Furthermore, Samsung Electronics' cinema LED screen, which is the world's first, is over six times brighter than existing projectors, allowing for various forms of premium screenings, including movies, live concerts, and dining cinemas.

The three companies will continue to collaborate to build future-oriented cinemas and plan to expand beyond domestic theaters to overseas cinemas where CGV has entered, thereby strengthening competitiveness in the film industry.

CJ CGV CEO Jeong Jong-min stated, “As the film industry is entering a new leap, the future-oriented cinema applying advanced technologies from Samsung Electronics and Harman International will set a new standard for movie viewing for customers,” adding, “We expect to provide differentiated customer experiences and value with optimized spaces and services.”

Samsung Electronics Korea General Manager Lim Sung-taek expressed, “Through this agreement, we expect that Samsung Electronics' latest products and AI solutions will be introduced to cinemas, providing customers with a new movie viewing experience,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields through Samsung Electronics' differentiated products and solutions.”

Harman Asia-Pacific and India General Manager Amar Subash stated, “Harman's premium audio technology, combined with Samsung Electronics' innovative display solutions, will create a powerful synergy, providing an even more unique movie viewing experience,” and mentioned, “We plan to expand Harman's advanced sound experience in various entertainment spaces in the future.”
