Kwon Sang-woo's starring film ‘Hitman 2’ is launching today (22nd) and aims for the box office throne.
According to the morning tally from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) attracted 21,270 viewers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 4,538,658. It currently ranks 5th in advance ticket sales.
In 2nd place is ‘Firefighters’ (directed by Kwak Kyung-taek), which has already surpassed its break-even point (2.5 million) and is enjoying long-term success. On the same day, it attracted 7,464 viewers, with a cumulative audience of about 3.82 million. Released in early December last year, the film has managed to achieve both box office success and charitable contributions despite various risks.
3rd place goes to ‘Substance,’ which has successfully made a comeback. It attracted 5,587 viewers, bringing its total audience to 265,801.
4th place is taken by ‘Black Nuns,’ which will be released on the 24th. It attracted 3,168 viewers on the same day.
Currently, the real-time advance ticket sales show Song Hye-kyo's ‘Black Nuns’ leading with an overwhelming 35.1%. 2nd place is ‘Hitman 2,’ followed by ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’ in 3rd place. 4th place is ‘IU Concert: The Winning.’
In particular, ‘Hitman 2,’ which premiered today (22nd), depicts the more challenging Season 2 writing journey of Jun (Kwon Sang-woo), a legendary former National Intelligence Service agent who has fallen from a mega-hit writer to a brain-dead writer. The sequel to ‘Hitman’ (2020), which was loved for its charming comedic moments, fantastic chemistry, high-quality action, fresh webtoon elements, and the active role of the only female character, Hwang Woo-seul-hye.
