In ‘Mickey 17’, Robert Pattinson expressed his respect for director Bong Joon-ho.
On the morning of the 20th, a preview screening and press conference for the film ‘Mickey 17’ was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul, attended by director Bong Joon-ho and actor Robert Pattinson.
Robert Pattinson stated, “There are only four or five people like director Bong Joon-ho in the world. He is a director that every actor wants to work with. When you watch a Bong Joon-ho film, the worldview is special. It makes sense. It touches on personal and emotional aspects.”
He continued, “It’s hard to put into words, but in terms of performance, it’s remarkable. I watched ‘Memories of Murder’ a long time ago, and the film's performance brings back memories that are truly absurd, allowing you to freely navigate serious situations without genre boundaries.”
Additionally, Robert Pattinson said, “When director Bong Joon-ho said he was thinking of me, I quickly raised my hand,” adding with a smile, “Among Bong Joon-ho’s films, I like ‘Mickey 17’ the most.”
‘Mickey 17’ depicts the unpredictable story of ‘Mickey’, an expendable sent on dangerous missions, who faces the crisis of his 17th death, only to have ‘Mickey 18’ printed when he is presumed dead. It will be released in South Korea on February 28.
