Director Jang Jae-hyun of the film ‘Pamyo’ received the Best Director award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

At the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony held on the evening of the 29th at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Director Jang said, “While attending school and learning about film, I grew my dreams and ambitions by watching the films of directors Kim Sung-soo, Ryu Seung-wan, and Kim Tae-yong. I can hardly contain myself just to be nominated alongside them, and receiving this award feels like encouragement to work even harder, so I will accept it with joy.”

He continued, “There are many people I want to thank through this film. I am grateful to the shaman who consulted on the film, the funeral director, the geomancer, my family who supported me, and the staff on set. I want to express my gratitude to Yoo Hae-jin, who gives such adorable and amazing performances, Lee Do-hyun, who is serving in the military, and the respected Kim Go-eun. I am glad you are a Korean actor,” conveying his appreciation to the ‘Pamyo’ team.

Director Jang also said, “There are those who couldn’t endure the long awards ceremony and skipped today. Sometimes like a food truck owner, like a father, like a friend, I want to share this honor with my senior Choi Min-sik, who is like a talisman for ‘Pamyo,’” showing his tears.

Following last year's departure of ‘The Woman of the Blue Dragon’ Kim Hye-soo from the hosting position, this year’s Blue Dragon Film Awards were hosted by actors Lee Je-hoon and Han Ji-min. The nominees for Best Picture included ‘Veteran 2,’ ‘Spring in Seoul,’ ‘Pamyo,’ ‘Fast Lives,’ and ‘Handsome Guys.’
