As BTS member Jin holds an encore fan concert in Incheon, it has been revealed that some accommodation providers have raised their prices significantly after canceling reservations.

On the 2nd, Big Hit Music announced that Jin will hold encore performances of his solo fan concert tour at the Incheon Munhak Stadium on the 31st and November 1st.

Starting in Goyang last June, Jin has met fans in a total of 18 performances across 9 cities, including Japan, the United States, and Europe.

After the concert news broke, a post by a netizen A, who claimed to have received a cancellation call for a previously confirmed reservation, gained attention on social media and various online communities.

Netizen A wrote, “I received a call saying they would cancel my reservation because the price was wrong, even though it was confirmed,” and added, “During the holidays, it was expensive at 80,000 won, but 1,070,000 won? Who would cancel?”

Netizen A also shared a screenshot showing that they had previously booked the room for 50,000 won, including discounts, and that the price had since risen to 1,070,000 won.

Netizens reacted with comments like, “All places near concert venues are like this these days. I hope they impose heavy fines,” “They should be made to refund the profits,” and “K-POP and ‘K-Dramas’ are thriving, but the business owners are ruining it.”

An analysis of 200 consumer consultations related to accommodation prices received by the Consumer Counseling Center from 2022 to July of last year revealed that consultations regarding “unilateral cancellations of reservations and additional charges by the business due to price fluctuations” accounted for the highest number at 121 cases (60.5%).
