Actor Matsushige Yutaka revealed that he asked director Bong Joon-ho to direct 'The Lonely Gourmet'.
On the 18th, Matsushige Yutaka appeared on the YouTube channel 'Theo' in 'Salon Drip 2'.
When asked if he feels the popularity in Korea, Matsushige Yutaka responded, "'The Lonely Gourmet' started quietly in Japan. But it's hard to believe that so many Koreans are watching it."
He continued, "One day my daughter said, 'Dad, you're totally trending right now.' It turned out that a photo shoot I did was causing a stir in both Korea and Japan. I found it really interesting that young people liked it."
Matsushige Yutaka visited Korea to promote 'The Lonely Gourmet: The Movie', which is set to be released on the 19th. He not only stars in the film but also took on the roles of director and producer.
Matsushige Yutaka stated, "'The Lonely Gourmet' was a content that was not easy to adapt into a movie. Because of that, I wanted someone bold to handle 'The Lonely Gourmet', so I wrote a letter to director Bong Joon-ho asking him to direct."
He added, "But I received a response that he was too busy, so I thought I would just have to do it myself," which caught attention.
