‘Hanbully’ focuses on a brazen drunk driving hit-and-run incident.
Tonight's broadcast of the Republic of Korea's Traffic Accident Zero Challenge JTBC 'Han Moon-cheol's Black Box Review' (hereinafter 'Hanbully') will cover a shocking drunk driving incident that occurred in a bustling area of Busan in the early morning hours.
The black box footage released that day shows a vehicle making contact with the black box car while reversing, and despite the pleas of pedestrians, it leaves the scene. The driver seems to be aware of the pursuing black box car, making a narrow escape down an alley, prompting Park Sun-young to exclaim, “How much did they drink?” in disbelief.
The 'Hanbully' production team meets with the owner of the black box car who chased the drunk driving vehicle to hear the details of the incident. The black box car owner, who was working as a taxi driver at the time, explains the tense situation, saying, “It was even more dangerous because it was a time when people were gathering as the surge pricing ended.”
He successfully chased down the drunk driving vehicle that hit a pedestrian, but the driver who got out of the car denied the allegations, saying, “What did I do wrong?” which sparked anger. When it was revealed that the driver would be arrested on charges of violating the Special Act, the panelists let out a sigh of relief, and lawyer Han Moon-cheol applauded the courage of the black box car owner, saying, “Not everyone can do this.”
The black box footage that followed depicts a tragic scene where a vehicle's wheel gets stuck in a drainage ditch while attempting to pull over to the shoulder. The driver, flustered by the sudden situation, only realizes that the drainage cover is missing after managing to back out. Hearing that the repair costs amounted to about 13 million won, Han Bo-reum expresses her dismay, saying, “What should we do?” while lawyer Han Moon-cheol supports the driver's unfortunate situation, stating, “The drainage ditch would not have been visible from the driver's perspective.”
