The British BBC reported on the 16th (local time), “Korean actress Kim Sae-ron has been found dead,” stating, “Kim Sae-ron, who started as a child actress, was one of the most promising young actresses in Korea.”
American People magazine reported, “Kim Sae-ron, who gained international fame with ‘The Traveler’ and was recognized as a newcomer with ‘The Man from Nowhere,’ was found dead at her home.”
Variety also reported the news of Kim Sae-ron's death, stating, “Kim Sae-ron gained international fame with ‘The Traveler,’ which was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, and was one of the youngest actors invited to the event.”

The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul reported that they received a call at 4:54 PM on the 16th regarding Kim Sae-ron's death at her home and confirmed the death upon arrival. Kim Sae-ron debuted as a baby model in the magazine ‘Anfang’ in 2001 and began her acting career with the film ‘The Traveler’ in 2009. She gained recognition after starring in the film ‘The Man from Nowhere’ alongside actor Won Bin in 2010, and appeared in several works such as ‘Neighborhood People,’ ‘Manhole,’ ‘Dohee-ya,’ ‘Snowy Road,’ and ‘Neighborhood People.’
While actively working, Kim Sae-ron faced a crisis in 2022 due to a drunk driving incident. As a result of this incident, a significant portion of her scenes in the Netflix series ‘Hunting Dogs’ was edited out, and she withdrew from the SBS drama ‘Trolley,’ in which she was scheduled to appear. Afterward, Kim Sae-ron aimed for a return to acting after two years through the play ‘Dongchimi,’ but faced difficulties due to negative public sentiment. The film ‘Guitar Man,’ which she completed filming last year, became her final work.
The late actress's funeral is set up at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, with the funeral scheduled for 6:20 AM on the 19th.
